Supreme Release Yoga

SRY (Supreme Release Yoga) is a gentle yet deeply transformative form of yoga, taught by Kathy Schwartz. This practice is accessible to everyone, regardless of experience or flexibility, and is centered around releasing deep tension along the spine—physically, emotionally, and energetically.

Rather than striving or stretching, SRY is about softening and letting go. The poses are gentle, supported, and held with specific angles that invite the spine to decompress and the nervous system to settle. With regular practice, students often experience:

  • Relief from chronic tension and pain

  • Improved posture, digestion, and sleep

  • Nervous system regulation (rest/digest/rejuvenate)

  • Enhanced fertility, childbirth preparation, and postpartum recovery

  • A calm, quiet mind and a deeper connection to self

Kathy describes this practice as “a spiritual, emotional, and physical sadhana”—a daily practice of transformation. As tension melts away from the spine, clarity and vitality naturally emerge. As we let go of physical tension, we let go of emotional pain and an overactive mind can settle and quite.

“Anybody can do this yoga. There’s no stretch or strain. We breathe, settle into simple shapes, and allow deep release to happen.”

Please note: SRY is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy, as it can influence pelvic alignment during a critical time of fetal development.
