About

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a high-intensity fitness program that combines elements of weightlifting, gymnastics, and cardiovascular conditioning into constantly varied workouts. Done in a group setting, CrossFit focuses on functional movements performed at high intensity to improve overall physical fitness and performance across ten recognized fitness domains: cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.

Our Mission Statement

Human beings were not designed to be alone. Our survival has always been dependent on others. CrossFit New Kent was born from the idea that community and fellowship are essential to familial and individual success. CrossFit’s unique methodology and practical application for over a decade has created communities focused on health and fitness. We have tried doing it alone, at the gym, on the track, in our garage and always found it lacking. CrossFit New Kent believes that the best way to achieve the goals of health and well-being is TOGETHER.

Our Core Values

  • Intensity is everything!

Intensity is relative to mental and physical limits, but everyone can achieve it. It is the goal of CrossFit New Kent to help you find yours. Together we will find weaknesses and face them; together we will build mental fortitude to push our minds and bodies past your perceived threshold.

Everything you ever wanted lies on the other side of intensity.‍ ‍

  • Discipline

Motivation is great but discipline is even better.

We believe that people have 1 of 2 choices: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret.

  • Balance

True fitness is a compromise across all adaptations and disciplines.

CrossFit is about specializing in NOT specializing. This is the essence of constantly varied. We will endeavor to always keep you guessing and therefore always prepared for anything.

  • Humility

This is not about vanity and ego, it’s about being the best version of ourselves physically and mentally so that we can be of service to our families and our communities.
